We got tired of guessing. So we built OnOffDeals.
OnOffDeals started with a simple frustration. Jana and Sumathi are real-estate investors, and like every investor they kept losing hours to the same grind: pulling comps by hand, guessing at repair costs, and finding out too late that a deal that looked fine on price didn't actually make money.
The tools out there either wanted you to already have the address, or handed back a number with no way to check it. So they set out to build the opposite — a tool that hunts entire markets for you, scores every listing green, yellow or red, and shows its work: the comps it used and the ones it rejected, so you can trust the number or challenge it.
It also does something most tools don't: a built-in Section 8 property finder that uses HUD fair-market rents to surface rentals that actually cash flow on a housing voucher, an edge Jana leaned on across his own Chicagoland portfolio.
That honesty is the whole point. It's why we show the math, and why we say "not enough data" when that's the truth.

An active U.S. real-estate investor, Jana owns a large portfolio of properties across Chicagoland and spent years underwriting deals the hard way: pulling comps by hand, second-guessing every ARV, and watching "good on paper" deals bleed money at closing. Along the way he cracked a problem most investors shy away from, finding rentals that reliably cash flow on Section 8 using HUD fair-market rents. That Section 8 property finder is now built into OnOffDeals, the tool he wished he had: one that hunts entire markets and proves the numbers before a dollar moves. He co-founded it with Sumathi.
Sumathi Gajendran

Sumathi is the financial advisor behind OnOffDeals and co-owns the business with Jana; Axiom Semantics Consulting LLC, the company behind OnOffDeals, is registered in her name. A fellow investor with a sharp eye for the numbers, she lived the same frustration: hours lost to spreadsheets and guesswork, with no fast way to tell a real deal from a pretty listing. She helped shape OnOffDeals around the questions investors actually ask before they wire a deposit.
Chaitanya Sharma

Chaitanya turns the idea into the product. An engineer who specializes in AI and AI-powered applications, he has worked with Jana and Sumathi for over a year across their projects and leads everything technical on OnOffDeals: the deal engine, the data pipelines, and the app itself. He is the sole developer, and he treats OnOffDeals as his own.
OnOffDeals is operated by Axiom Semantics Consulting LLC, based in Chicago, IL. Jana and Sumathi are U.S. citizens and lifelong investors; Chaitanya leads the engineering.
